Ann was born in 1805. Ann's father was Ado and her mother was Mari Susi. Her paternal grandparents were Juhan and Mai; her maternal grandparents were Hans and Margret. She had four brothers and a sister, named Karl, Ado, Hindrik, Jaan and Margret. She was the second oldest of the six children.
