Ann was born in 1778. Ann's father was Jaan and her mother was Katri. Her paternal grandparents were Andres and Ann. She had four brothers and two sisters, named Hans, Peep, Evert, Peeter, Eva and Krõõt. She was the fifth oldest of the seven children.
