Anu was born in 1826.  Anu's father is Jaan Susi and her mother is Eva Susi.  Her paternal grandparents were Evert and Liis; her maternal grandfather was Peeter Volmer and her maternal grandmother is Tiiu Volmer. She had a brother and three sisters, named Jaan, Marie, Katri and Liis.  She was the second oldest of the five children.  She died at the age of 64 in 1890.
