Liis was born in 1745. Liis' father was Toomas and her mother was Epp. Her paternal grandfather is Mats and her paternal grandmother was Mai; her maternal grandfather was Mats and her maternal grandmother is Madli. She had a brother and a sister, named Mihkel and Katri. She had five half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Mikk, Jaan, Andres, Paap, Mats, Ann, Els and Mai. She died at the age of 57 in 1802.
