Hendrik was born on August 16th, 1744 in Rijnsburg, Zuid-Holland.  Hendrik's father was Samuël Brussee and his mother was Jannetje Stevens Boterham.  His paternal grandparents were Jan Jacobs Brussee and Hester IJsbrandr. de Vos. He had seven brothers and a sister, named Jan, Jacob, Dirk, Pieter, Daniël, Jannetje Samuëls, Dirk and Hester.  He was the sixth oldest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 6 in 1750 in Rijnsburg, Zuid-Holland.
