Ágoston was born on August 25th, 1797 in Hernádvécse.1   Ágoston's father was János Vécsey and his mother was Zsuzsa Splényi.  His paternal grandparents were József Vécsey and Teréz Berényi. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Ferenc, Alajos, Károly, Konstancia, Zsófia and Zsuzsanna.  He died at the age of 42 on May 8th, 1840 in Hernádvécse.1
