József was born in October 1832 in Budapest Óbuda and his baptism took place on October 9th, 1832 in Budapest Óbudai templom.1  József's father was Márton Schödl and his mother was Magdaléna Hechtl.  His paternal grandparents were Márton Schedl and Anna Maria Obenausin. He had five brothers and six sisters, named Márton, Mátyás, György, Pál, István, Julianna, Julianna, Magdolna, Rosina, Mária and Anna.  He was the second oldest of the twelve children.  He died at the age of 80 on March 22nd, 1913 in Budapest V. ker..2
