Lídia's father was Károly Asbóth and her mother was Klára Nagy (Győri).  Her paternal grandparents were János Asbóth and Katalin Márczi. She had five brothers and three sisters, named Lajos, Lajos, László, Károly, Dezső, Julianna, Mária and Vilma.  She was the fourth oldest of the nine children.
