István Körtvélyesi

István was born on November 20th, 1831 in Szabadka and his baptism took place in Szabadka Szent Teréz.¹   István's father was Pál Körtvélyesi and his mother was Teréz Vörös.  His paternal grandparents were Antal Körtvélyesi and Katalin Varga. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Lukács, Kálmán, Antal, Antal, Teréz and Éva.  He was the second oldest of the seven children.  He died at just 11 days old on December 1st, 1831 in Szabadka.²
