Jan was born on February 19th, 1852.  Jan's father was Karl Joseph Siman and his mother was Maria Putyos.  His paternal grandfather was Jan Mathew Siman and his paternal grandmother is Helena Jerg; his maternal grandparents are Mathew Putyos and Maria Palyuz. He had three half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Andrew, Karl, Karl, Anna, Christina and Maria.  He died at the age of 74 on May 26th, 1926.
