Ginesa was born in 1758 in Cumana.  Ginesa's father was Pedro De Alcalá y Rendón and her mother is Juana Geronima Sanchez Vallenilla.  Her paternal grandfather was Diego Antonio De Alcalá y Guevara and her paternal grandmother is Isabel Maria De Rendón Sarmiento y Sanchez; her maternal grandfather was Dionisio Sanchez Ramirez de Arellano and her maternal grandmother is Ines Maria De Vallenilla y Bocanegra. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Pedro, José Miguel, Rafaela, María Josefa and María Manuela.  She is the second oldest of the six children.
