María De Alcalá y Rendón

María was born in 1725 in Cumana. María's father was Diego Antonio De Alcalá y Guevara and her mother is Isabel Maria De Rendón Sarmiento y Sanchez. Her paternal grandparents are Pedro De Alcala y Marquez de Valenzuela and Andrea Maria De Guevara y Soberanis. She had four brothers and two sisters, named Antonio, Juan Bautista, Pedro, Diego, Josefa Francisca and Isabel Antonia. She was the fourth oldest of the seven children. She died at the age of 63 in 1788 in Cumana.

General Notes
- Doña María de Alcalá y Rendón fue la fundadora en el año 1778 de la primera escuela primaria de Cumaná. Murió soltera y sin sucesión. En la obra Memorias Hist.Cumaná, tomo I, pág. 130, dice que contrajo matrimonio con Jacinto de la Guerra y Vega y que no hubo descendencia.
