Alejandro was born in Valle Guanape.  Alejandro's father was Heliodoro Abad and his mother was Delfina Armas Rojas.  His paternal grandfather is Jose Felix Dominguez Armas and his paternal grandmother was Josefa Abad; his maternal grandparents are Erasmo Armas Ortiz and Jacinta Rojas. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Ramon Esteban, Adan Rafael, Efrain, Pablo Absalon, Eva, Providencia, Caridad and Carmen Celestina.
