Clotaire (Chlothar) I "The Old" Meroving was born in 0499.  Clotaire (Chlothar) I "The Old" Meroving's father was Clovis I "The Great"(Clodovic)(Chlodwig) de Meroving King of the Salian Franks and his mother was St. Clothilde De Burgundy.  His paternal grandparents were Childeric I de Meroving and Basina Andovera von Thuringia .  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 62 in 0561.
