George was born on November 21st, 1919.  George's father was William Stewart and his mother was Agnes Stewart.  His paternal grandparents were James Stewart and Jamima Rolley Kidd Stewart; his maternal grandparents were Robert Stewart and Sarah Stewart. He had two brothers and a sister, named John (Jack), Robert and Mabel.  He was the oldest of the four children.  He died at the age of 85 in 2004.
