William was born on August 30th, 1875.  William's father was George McLeod Polson and his mother was Robertina Polson.  His paternal grandparents were Donald Polson and Barbara  MacLeod. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Donald, George, Cecil, John, Alexander, Margaret, Jessie and Christina.  He was the fifth oldest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 73 on October 24th, 1948.
