John was born on August 30th, 1880.  John's father was George McLeod Polson and his mother was Robertina Polson.  His paternal grandparents were Donald Polson and Barbara  MacLeod. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Donald, George, William, Cecil, Alexander, Margaret, Jessie and Christina.  He was the seventh oldest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 62 on May 18th, 1943.
