John Petyt

John was born in 1744 in Bolton Abbey, Yorkshire, England. John's father was Thomas Pettyt and his mother was Sarah Hodgson. His paternal grandparents were Christopher Pettyt and Jane Craven. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, Christopher, Mary, Sarah and Susan. He was the fifth oldest of the six children.
