Lewis Birdsall

Lewis was born in 1888 in Stutton, Yorkshire, England.¹ Lewis' father was George Birdsall and his mother was Mary Ann Newiss. His maternal grandparents were Thomas Newis and Mary Gow. He had two brothers and five sisters, named Albert Edward, Infant, Annie, Alice, Clara, Hilda Ellen and Ethel Louisa. He was the second oldest of the eight children.
