Charlotte was born on January 20th, 1897 in Lower Bucksburn Newhills.  Charlotte's father was John Maitland Murray and her mother was Elizabeth Mathieson Murray.  Her paternal grandparents were James Murray and Jessie Maitland; her maternal grandparents were James Bisset Murray and Charlotte Rae. She had four brothers and two sisters, named James, John, Thomas, Alex, Jessie and Bella.  She was the youngest of the seven children.  She died at the age of 69 in 1966 in City Hospital Aberdeen.
