Robert was born on July 22nd, 1884 in 34 Barron Street Woodside Aberdeen.  Robert's father was James Bird and his mother was Margeret Davidson.  His paternal grandparents were George Bird and Helen Alexander; his maternal grandparents were John Davidson and Isabella Wilson. He had four brothers and two sisters, named James, Leslie, Ebenezer, George, Margaret and Jeanie.  He was the youngest of the seven children.  He died from cancer, Bowel cancer, at the age of 73 in June 1958 in 25 Bankhead Av Bankhead Aberdeen.
