Lawrence was born on November 27th, 1913.  Lawrence's father is Jackson Shepherd and his mother is Pollly Shepherd. He had three brothers and eight sisters, named Francis , Frederick, Philip, Willie Ann, Mahel, Mary , Irene, Autrice, Effie, Lillian and Molie.  He died at the age of 59 on April 23rd, 1973 in Roanoke, VA.  His burial was in william Memorial Park, Roanoke, VA.
