Stephen's father was Raymond Satterlee and his mother is Helen Elrod.  His paternal grandparents were Ray Satterlee and Pearl Horton; his maternal grandparents were Rev Everett M Elrod and Sophia E Sauder.  He is the youngest of three children.  He had a brother and a sister, named Mike and Patricia.
