Mary Ann Sanderson

  • Mary Ann Sanderson b.1829.
    Mary Ann Sanderson was the last child born to Henry Sanderson and Mary Ann Ives and arrived on
    the scene on 1stFebruary 1829 in Brodsworth, Yorkshire, England. She married David Lauchlan before
    1856 and had a family of three children. Two of who at least were born in India, where Mary Ann and
    David were stationed. He being head of the Customs department for the East India Company. David
    Lauchlan died on 30thOctober 1869 in Croydon, England. No details are yet available on the death date of
    Mary Ann although she was still living in 1894 when her brother Henry Thelusson Sanderson wrote to her
    in April of that year.
    
    Note of interest… Much of the information regarding the Sanderson family has come from the writings of a Dr G A Lauchlan, who kept a record of the family happenings, as dictated to him by Mary Ann and
    dated 11thDecember 1908, although in some cases, not with any real accuracy. Who this Dr G A Lauchlan was at this time is not certain, but he was probably a grandson of Mary Ann and son of either of the sons of Mary Ann Sanderson and David Lauchlan.
