    Peter Phillips is the eldest child of Princess Anne and her first husband Mark Phillips. He was born on 15 November 1977 at St Mary’s hospital, Paddington in London. He was educated in Dorset and then like other Royals before him became head boy at Gordonstoun School in Scotland. He is a keen sportsman, having graduated from Exeter University with a degree in Sports Science after playing Rugby for the Scottish Schools Team.
    
    After his graduation he worked for Jaguar cars as a hospitality manager and then for Williams Formula One motor racing team as a sponsorship manager. Since September 2005 he has worked for the Royal Bank of Scotland.
    
    Unlike his sister Zara, his private life has been rarely publicised. His engagement to Autumn Kelly (a Canadian Management Consultant whom he met at the 2007 Montreal Grand Prix) was announced in 2007. The couple now shares a cottage on the Gatscombe Estate in Gloucester after Autumn relocated to the UK.
    
    Peter was the first of the Queen’s grandchildren to marry in 2007 to Autumn in Windsor. As Autumn was a Roman Catholic she potentially threatened Peter’s rights of ascension to the throne, however she converted meaning he is still 11th in line for the crown. The couple moved to Hong Kong in 2008 and as such do not carry out any Royal duties. The couple welcomed their first child – a girl in late 2010 but she is yet to be named. The child is the first great-grandchild of Elizabeth II.
