Robert was born in 1869 in Ballycocksoost  Inistioge Co Kilkenny.  Robert's father was Henry Miller and his mother was Elizabeth Lodge.  His paternal grandfather is Matthew Miller and his paternal grandmother was Mary Flood. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Herny, Albie, William, Arthur, Hubert, Mary, Harriet, Bessie and Harritt.  He was the oldest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 62 in 1931 in Ballycocksoost  Inistioge Co Kilkenny.
