Ellin was born about 1764 in YORK North Yorkshire England.  Ellin's father was Richard Land and her mother was Elizabeth Taylor. She had four brothers and two sisters, named John, Robert, Richard, William, Esther and Elizabeth.  She is the fourth oldest of the seven children. She has a half-sister named Elizabeth.
