  • Mary JOWETT (Peter, Peter) was born in 1757 in Baildon West Yorkshire England. She died in
    1828.
    Mary married William SANDERSON, son of William SANDERSON and Elizabeth
    LANGCAKE, in 1777 in Newgate London. William was born in 1755 in Wigton Cumberland. He
    died in 1805.

    Deaths.
    On Friday morning, aged 69, Mrs Sanderson, of Norfolk Street in this town, and formerly of Doncaster.
    This venerable and highly respected lady, was not only affectionately endeared to her family, and beloved by her friends, but may, moreover be recollected by others, with some interest, as having been selected by Earl Fitzwilliam and his 1st Countess to undertake the care of their infant son and only child, the present Lord Milton, who remained under her almost exclusive care for the first seven years of his life, acquiring, during that period, from the alphabetical and other lessons of his foster mother, the very first elements of his education; and perhaps owing something at the same time, to her judicious personal management, in the foundation of that constitutional vigor which his lordship at present enjoys. It is gratifying to add, - what might indeed might justly be expected, from such parties, that the early and high respect of her illustrious charge, and subsequently of his own amiable family, as well as the noble lord of Wentworth, continued to be affectionately and subsequently manifested towards Mrs Sanderson to the end of her life.
