    Josephine Hughes-Chamberlain studied the cello and the piano at the Royal Academy of Music, after which she worked for some years as the resident cellist at J & A Beare, the London Antique violin dealers, playing and testing the world's finest instruments for the world's greatest cellists. While here she also acquired a knowledge and interest in violin making and recognition of old instruments. During this time Josephine also found time to fulfil her passion for teaching the cello, and in 2001 she decided to teach full-time, and has acquired a high reputation for teaching young children, including the children of a number of eminent musicians. She also has a love of playing chamber music and is a member of a piano trio.
