      John Henry Bonham, Sr., who operated his father's construction company in Redditch, Worcestershire, J. H. Bonham & Son. To supplement the family income, Joan Bonham ran a newsagency business in Hunt End. A fan of big band music such as the Benny Goodman, and Harry James bands, she influenced John Bonham's musical upbringing.
