Jaime's father was Cristino (Tuno) Manapul Vinuya and his mother was Maria (Maria) Tadeo.  His paternal grandparents were Lauriano Vinuya and Deogracia Manapul. He had two sisters named Agang and Paring.  He was the youngest of the three children. He had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Juaquin, Piring, Dingga and Veronica.
