George  was born in 1831 in Kilve Somerset and was baptised on October 23rd, 1831 in Kilve.1   George 's father was Thomas  Webb and his mother was Mary Crane.  His paternal grandparents were William  Webbe and Susanna  Piles; his maternal grandparents were Isaac Crane and Joan Rowe.  He was the fourth of ten children.  He had five brothers and four sisters, named John , William, Thomas, Barnett, Charles, Betsey, Dorah, Laura  and Mary.
