William was born in 1745 in Luxborough and was baptised there on December 21st, 1745.1   William's father was Thomas Orchard and his mother was Mary Sully.  His paternal grandparents were <Unknown> and <Unknown>; his maternal grandparents were James Sully and Mary Hill.  He was the sixth of nine children.  He had three brothers and five sisters, named William , Thomas, John, Betty, Joan, Ann, Jane  and Christian .
