Charlotte was born in 1827 in Tythegston and was baptised there on March 21st, 1827.1   Charlotte's father was Richard John/Jones and her mother was Dinah Howell/s.  Her paternal grandparents were Hopkin John and Jennet Richard.  She was the oldest of ten children.  She had four brothers and five sisters, named Richard, Mary, David, Thomas, Hannah, Dinah, Catherine , Sarah and Annelyna.
