Jemima was born in 1863 in Heathfield Somersetshire.1   Jemima's father was Abraham Gribble and her mother was Martha Pugsley.  Her paternal grandparents were Robert  Gribble and Ann Tame; her maternal grandparents were Henry Pugsley and Mary.  She was the oldest of three children.  She had two sisters named Elizabeth and Alice .
