Robert was born in 1891.  Robert's father was William  Granger and his mother was Annie Lucas.  His paternal grandparents were Robert Granger and Ann Vines; his maternal grandparents were Edwin  Cary Lucas and Jane Weekes.  He was the second of five children.  He had four sisters named Anne, Jenny, Florence  and Elizabeth.
