Penninah was born in 1833 in Kington St. Michael and was baptised on September 22nd, 1833 in Kington St.Michael Wilts.1   Penninah's father was Simon Granger and her mother was Margaret Simpson.  Her paternal grandparents were Ann Young and Ann Little; her maternal grandparents were <Unknown> and <Unknown>.  She was the fourth of five children.  She had a brother and three sisters, named Robert, Mary, Margaret and Matilda.
