Jenny was born in 1896 in Bristol.1   Jenny's father was William  Granger and her mother was Annie Lucas.  Her paternal grandparents were Robert Granger and Ann Vines; her maternal grandparents were Edwin  Cary Lucas and Jane Weekes.  She was the third of five children.  She had a brother and three sisters, named Robert, Anne, Florence  and Elizabeth.
