Sarah was born in 1712 in Timberscombe and was baptised there on April 26th, 1712.1   Sarah's father was John Coles and her mother was Joan Ridler.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Coles and Agnes; her maternal grandparents were John Ridler and Mary.  She was the fourth of seven children.  She had three brothers and three sisters, named John, Henry, George , Mary, Agnes and Elizabeth .
