  I have not found an 1843 or near record matching the 1881 census age.   George's age in the 1881 census entry has probably been mistranscribed, overstating age by 10 years.

George's father was Henry Willsher and his mother was Frances Smith?. His paternal grandparents were John Willsher Jr and <Unknown>. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Henry, William, Frederick , Thomas, Henry, Frances and Susan. He was the youngest of the eight children.

- A George Willsher appears in the 1891 census in the household of Charles Perrott married to Susan. George is described as brother in law, suggesting he is Susan's brother.
