Walter Macklin

Walter was born about 1816 in Finsbury, Middlesex.¹

Birth Notes
- 1851 census in Walter Sr household has birth mistranscribed as ten years later. Inspection of image shows age consistent with 1816 birth.
  
  There is another 1851 census entry in a George Macklin household as brother, two years younger, but George is way too old to match to 1841 census.
  
  Risk of confusion.

Walter's father was Walter Macklin and his mother was Elizabeth or Sarah Littlejohn. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Cornelius, George, Reuben, Catherine, Sarah, Elizabeth, Amelia and Louisa. He was the oldest of the nine children.
