William Smith Walker

William was born about 1848 in Cold Knockles, Co. Durham.¹

- Possibly mother is Mary Jane Smith, later wife of Richard Walker.
  
  Note also Margaret Jane Smith, resident as servant 1851 census.

William's father was Richard Walker and his mother was Ann Smith. He had two sisters named Margaret and Elizabeth. He was the second oldest of the three known children. He had twelve half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Joseph, George, William, Edward, Anthony, Benjamin, Harrison, John, Thomas, Richard, Robert, Ralph, Jane and Elenor.
