Margaret was born in 1885.  Margaret's father was Thomas SPENCE and her mother was Elizabeth Bell.  Her paternal grandparents were HENRY SPENCE and RACHEL WOODWARD; her maternal grandparents were William Bell and Elizabeth Sunter. She had four brothers and three sisters, named Henry, Adam, John, Herbert, Ethel, Minnie and Eliza.  She was the third oldest of the eight known children. She had a half-sister named Mary.
