William Beckwith

William was born about 1862 in Lanchester, Co. Durham.¹ William 's father was Joseph Beckwith and his mother was Ruth Priestly. His paternal grandparents were Cuthbert Beckwith and Jane Wanless; his maternal grandparents were Joseph Preistley and Elenor Preistley nee NK. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Joseph, John, Emerson, Eleanor, Jane, Isabella and Frances. He was the sixth oldest of the eight children.
