Joseph W. Beckwith

Joseph was born about 1849 in Black Hill, Co. Durham, England.¹ Joseph's father was Joseph Beckwith and his mother was Ruth Priestly. His paternal grandparents were Cuthbert Beckwith and Jane Wanless; his maternal grandparents were Joseph Preistley and Elenor Preistley nee NK. He had three brothers and four sisters, named John, William , Emerson, Eleanor, Jane, Isabella and Frances. He was the oldest of the eight children.
