John James Beckwith

John was born about 1865 in Port Clarence, Durham, England.¹ John's father was Cuthbert William Beckwith and his mother was Sarah Spence. His paternal grandparents were Cuthbert Beckwith and Jane Wanless. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Cuthbert, Robert, Thomas, Jane, Mary and Selina. He was the fifth oldest of the seven children.
