Eliza was born about February 1874 in Westwood, Co. Durham.1  Eliza's father was John Whittle and her mother is Jane Golding.  Her paternal grandparents were Joseph Whittle and Mary (Whittle).  She had a brother and four sisters, named Joseph, Mary, Elizabeth, Ellen and Margaret.  She was the third oldest of the six known children.  Eliza is no longer alive.
