James' father was James THOMASON and his mother was Hannah Unknown. His paternal grandparents were RICHARD THOMASON and NANCY STONES. He had seven brothers and two sisters, named William, Daniel, Moses, Richard, John, Peter, James, Sarah and Nancy. He was the oldest of the ten children.
