Sarah was born on January 14th, 1725.  Sarah's father was Richard Higson and her mother was Mary Pendlebury.  Her paternal grandparents were Giles Higson and Anna Farneworth.  She had three brothers and three sisters, named Giles, John, George, Margareta, Mary and Alice.  She was the youngest of the seven children.
