Esther was born about 1803.  Esther's father was Thomas Higson and her mother was Esther Unknown.  Her paternal grandparents were George Higson and Ann Berry.  She had four brothers and five sisters, named Thomas, James, John, Henry, Esther, Esther, Betty, Alice and Ann.  She was the youngest of the ten children.
